Has anyone noticed when you put something somewhere that you deem a 'safe place' it's never found again?
I cannot find
1) My birth certificate (which, for over 8 months was in my nightstand, and I could always find it). About 2 months ago i put it in a 'safe place' Now I can't find it.
2) Target gift cards. I believe these are in the safe 'safe place' as my birth certificate. Though, that's not certain.
Ugh, I'm losing my mind!
In my search, however, i did find my college ID (put in another safe place). It still has money on it that I can use. Woohoo!

same thing happened to me!! I looked and looked for my birth certificate in my 'safe places' and it turned up in my mom's safety deposit box I guess I forgot I gave it to her.
as soon as my w-ring is ready, FH and I are getting our own safety deposit box...that will be our new 'safe place'

Two words: filing cabinet!! I find it really helpful. I have folders for everything: important documents, wedding stuff organized by vendor, bills, etc. Since gift cards are flat, I would probably put them in there too.

I have filing bin things actually i thought that was the 'safe place' i put it.
the birth certificate was actually still in the drawer
This leads to only one conclusion: I have too much damn paper

I am the same way!!!! MY safe places are WAY TOO SAFE, they are even safe from me!!!

No kidding. I knew my passport was in a box in my room until 2 months before my honeymoon. I tore my room apart and never found it. Unpacking at my new house, I found it right away.

My SS Card is 'someplace safe'
NOT the safety deposit box either - but there IS a copy in there!
Will I ever really need my SS Card anyway?

i have mine in my wallet and i'm forever told not to keep it there - but someone can have my identity for all i care. please, pay my student loan and my car payments, i won't try to stop you
