said something I shouldnt have...

said something I shouldnt have...

a long time ago, I took a picture of Josh and wrote 'i finally found my Prince Charming' on it.... i never showed him or even told him about it.

he was looking through my pictures on my computer tonight, and he came across it but I didnt want him to see it because its embarrassing so I fought with hima nd fought with him saying things like 'well it was before I got to know you' and things like that, to make him not want to see it..

so he broke free and saw it... and then he said 'is that how you really feel?' and i said 'it used to be.'

then he got really upset and said that him being my prince charming before but not now was the meanest thing ive ever said to him, and he was really upset, so we were both in a bad mood...

i told him why i said it, because honestly im sorry I said it, but not sorry that i feel it...sometimes hes really not nice to me...disrespectful and hurtful... not all the time, but enough to leave a dent.

but then he said that this was a wake up call because he wants to be my prince charming 'in the beginning, middle, and till we both dont exist anymore'...

so maybe after all this it was a good thing that he saw and an even better thing that I said what i did..

but I'm still upset.

what are your thoughts? should i still be upset? I dunno.

Sometimes the truth stings, but if it's how you feel, it's important to be honest.

I think he needs to understand that with all you've been through, your feelings have changed. But with that little spark (or huge spark) that you felt then, it always has a possibility of returning.

I think he has a right to be upset, as do you, but maybe the extra honesty will sink in and it will help you guys figure out what it is you're going to do in the future. Eventually. No rush!

I agree with the pp and also, my feeling is that he's a little more upset at himself at letting things happen to make you feel that way than he is at you. No one ever wants to hear from the person they love that they have been a jerk or that their SO doesn't still feel the same way about them, it hurts, but sometimes that can make the difference and make them realize the hurtful things they do and prevent them from repeating the same mistakes in the future. I'm sure it's upsetting now maybe a little awkward too but in the end, if he's worth it to you it may make the relationship better. Everything happens for a reason and perhaps this happened to make your relationship stronger. You did nothing wrong, don't be sad be hopeful that he realizes and really does want to be your prince charming and stops doing hurtful things

I agree with the previous 2 posts... You have to be honest with him... And the truth hurts and it hurts more to admit it to yourself... And this is the man you plan on spending forever with, you HAVE to be honest with him about your feelings or resentment starts to build.. And also you WAIT for him to act a particular way or project it on him and you dont want to do that either...

And if his behavior has hurt you and left a dent he SHOULD know that... And trust me I KNOW how you feel and it sux when you hurt someone you love, but he should know hes hurt you as well... =/ It WILL make the relationship stronger and BETTER =))

And I see you posted again so Im happy to see things are better =)

i think sometimes people need a wake up call... the difference is - will he continue to act the way he does or make the efforts to make it better... i'm sure he will do what he can to be your prince charming again...

I def agree that it's good that it came out. . perhaps not in the perfect way but you part of making a relationship surrvive is telling the other person both how much you enjoy the good things they do and telling them the things you need to make it better .. this seems like a great chance to make it better and that he responded seems like such a good thing. ..

Hey Marissa
I think he might have been a little bit hurt over it. But I wouldnt worry about it. I think everything will be fine.

Sometimes things are said without thinking (I am guilty of it all the time) and eventually it cools down.

Hope you're ok. I think this will pass

You didn't say something you should'nt have. Something came out that you were feeling. You needed to get it out.

Even if it's hurtful to him, he needs to know if you're not 100% happy in the relationship. He also has to be willing to do what it takes for you to be happy.

I know exactly how you feel because that's what I felt like with the first guy I dated after I ended my first engagement. But DO NOT settle for something that isn't right. You didn't do it before, don't do it again. You're smarter than that.

If he's worth being with, he will take what you said and try to improve the relationship.

If you need to vent, I'm here.
