Salon near the Source Mall

Hi ladies,

So in an effort to save money, I am trying to find a good hair salon near the Hotel for the day of my wedding. We are staying in the Hilton Garden Inn in Westbury right across from the Bed Bath & Beyond and the Source mall.

Please let me know any salons you can think of in the area

Maximus salon inside the Source Mall. I know several people who have gone there and were happy.

Other than that, not sure.

In the source mall there are two hair salons. The first is Maximus. I have never been there but a few friends and have been very happy. The next is called trade secret. DO NOT go there. I went in with blonde hair beautiful long hair that needed a trim and a touch up I couldnt get an appointement at my place so I went here on a whim after hearing they were good and the girl had BEAUTIFUL hair. I even told her exaclty what color in what brand. She quoted me $200 including a blow out, I was happy she got to work. Almost six hours later I wanted out with chunks of my hair burnt off from the bleach, the blowdryer and broken off from her starting at the roots to comb out my hair (which anyone over the age of 7 knows doesnt work ggrrrrr) WHen i left my hair cut was horrible my blonde blonde hair was BLACK with streaks of white like a zebra. I also had burns on my scalp from teh chemicals as well as from the BLOWEDRYER AND IRON cause she kept hitting me with it! She blamed the color on my hair 'taking wrong'-- how blonde because black is still up in the air to me. and then charged me $425 because it took her a long time. Then she told me I needed to come in for weekly $125 treaatements because my hair was dry and damaged... Let me tell you I FLIPPED and they called mall security and I left crying and 425 more broke just to end the whole ordeal.

I hate that place and the last thing I would ever want to see if a bride getting her hair messed up on her wedding day.

PS- there are no mirrors but one small one in teh salon and don't show you until your finsihed, its apperently part of there 'system'....

I go to JCPenney's Hair Salon at Roosevelt Field Mall. Color for $60. Ask for Gladys, she does the perfect shade for your hair, its cheap and the job is well done.
