Same-sex couples on LIW/NYW

Julz post on her friends got me thinking. Are there any same sex couples on LIW -- given that marriages are so common now? I apologize and don;t mean to put anyone on the sopt, but am curious.

I don't know of any same sex couples on the site, not that it's any of my business, but I see no reason why they would not be just as welcomed as any other couple.

i was curious too. a couple of times i saw 'FW', but it was guys posting. I hope that if there are any that look at the boards, that they would feel comfotable enough to post

I remember seeing a same-sex couple on here a while ago...
I think it was FemmeLove???
Not 100% sure though.

id love to know.... one of my male friends wants to plan his wedding..... he's a little worried about some of the vendors turning him down because of it and Id love advice for good accepting vendors for him to go to....

My best friend is planning her commitment ceremony now.. I told her about this site- even posted things for her..

She would rather have me do all the leg work than post on her own!

I also think that she believes the regular rules of wedding planning don't always apply to them..

In regards to someone else's post about vendors not being responsive- I completely disagree. I think gay weddings are such a big market, they are not going to alienate a big portion of their customers. My friend has not had any problems, thus far.

maybe people should put in a request for a same-sex board on LIW... just like how we have our '05, '04, etc... so that maybe it would be more of a comfort zone for same sex couples. i mean, obviously they'd have the other boards too,,, but maybe they would be more inclined to chat if they saw a board like that and felt as welcomed as they should

Especially for an instance like this,,, a board like that would suite their needs.... like how they may have different ceremony practices, etc...!!

i think we should try to write to them first to see what happens... before we make any other moves... maybe they will be down for it?

i'm in the middle of writing to them... i need help with writing it correctly though... any suggestions?
