Just wondering...Did your florist provide a sample centerpiece? Did you have to pay for it?
I had some difficulty with a florist (to remain unnamed) who said that she does not do a sample but if I really want one she is charging me the price of the centerpiece $160 bucks! Of course I was allowed to keep it-thanks a lot! Then she has the nerve to send an email to FMIL saying that she cannot work with me because I'm backing her in a corner about the sample. So now I'm looking for a florist again with 9 weeks to my wedding. I guess I should be glad because she was a prententious biatch who was extremely inflexible!

Re: Sample Centerpiece
My florist is providing a sample. She's going to show it at a showcase so I can see it set up on the table and everything. That's so odd that she wants you to pay for a sample. Uhhhh, how rude!!

Re: Sample Centerpiece
My florist did not show a sample before I booked but I felt fairly confident in them. After I booked they did a sample and I felt even better!
I can kind of understand them not doing it beforehand...without a solid commitment from you they could potentially be losing money making the sample.

Oh, I thought you had already booked your florist. After you book they should definitely provide a sample.

I was ready to book with this person! They had my commitment and I was sending my deposit this week and they knew it. She told me that 'samples are not my thing...people are impressed when they see it on the day.' Sorry, I'm not willing to take that risk.

ITA! I had someone who had given me a better quote, but couldn't show me a sample and I just didn't feel comfortable with that. Take your business elsewhere!!! There are tons of florists, her loss!!

Re: Sample Centerpiece
I saw a ton of florist and all promised me a sample some before I booked with them and all after I booked with them and it would cost me nothing extra. How do you know if you are going to like their work. The day of the wedding is a bad time to find out you don't like something in your center piece. Sorry you have to look for another florist. I could recommend some of the ones I saw so far. I think all their work is great I am just trying to find the impossible.
Good luck

Re: Sample Centerpiece
flower michele will be doing a sample for us a couple of months before the wedding but only for the cp not the boo-ks.
flowers by brian did a sample cp for us when we were looking for a florist and they said they said if we booked with them they would do a sample of the boo-ks to make sure we would be happy with it.
btw we didnt book with flowers by brian because they were more expensive the flower michele

Re: Sample Centerpiece
I would recommend calling flowers and designs by Gina. She has a sample for you when you meet her for the first time, does great work, and is very reasonable!

Re: Sample Centerpiece
she's charging u for a sample centerpiece?? hmmm thats bad business in my opinion. she should make one up for u to see what it looks like free of charge, considering u're gonna be spending all that money on the rest of the flowers. ughhh vendors!!!

Re: Sample Centerpiece
i did met one florist who said the same thing! they showed me an album of all their recent work and it did look nice but i didn't want to take a chance as well.
what i noticed though is that those florists that i went to a while back, are now calling me and telling me they'll make sample CPs for free. i guess if you just wait, they'll make one for you just to get your business.
