Sand Castle Bride

Hi all,

I had a couple of questions regarding the sand castle caterers. I just booked my wedding at the Sand Castle for August 2010- yeeey
I wanted to hear your recommendations for this event. Did any of you go to the Greece honey moon and if you did, how was it.
For the cake- you can choose anything you want- I want a 5 foot cake- will they honor my request? Or is there a limit.
What should I watch out for???

Also any recomendations for places to take pictures near by other then westburry manor.

Congrats on the SandCastle -I am getting married there in about two months.

Not sure on honeymoon - was wondering the same thing.

Not sure on cake either but if you contact me right before or after the wedding i will tell you - though I did read something about it dependent on how many you booked.

Is anybody satisfied with the bakery the sand castle works with. Did they do exactly what your vision was?

My sister got married there 2 years ago....she actually never wound up using her free trip to Greece since you have to pay for everything but the hotel.....You do have 1 year to use it so if you don't want to go there for your honeymoon, you can always go there after you get married or in the summer!

As far as the cake, I am not sure about the 5 foot cake...she had a regular 3 tiered round cake but it definitely wasn't 5 feet! Give your BM a call, I am sure they can better answer your questions.

Congrats all you Sand Castle Brides!!!!!

I am seriously not a 'girly girl'. Honestly when I got engaged I wanted to elope because I hate wearing dresses! My wedding day changed my life...it was sooooooooo whatever the word above AMAZING is thats whats what it was LOL..

You are going to have an OUTRAGEOUS....AMAZING wedding!! My wedding was PERFECT seriously!!!

The staff is great!! FOOD OMG to die for! As far as the cake...we got to choose any cake in the book. Fondant cakes you have to pay for...because they consider that an upgrade. My cake was included in the price (PICTURE Attached) My cake was SOOOOO DELICIOUS!! It was yellow cake with fresh strawberries and french creme with real WHIP CREAM frosting! I had the best day of my life at my wedding.

I am so jealous i wish i could live the day over again. I am so happy I received my video today because now I really can live it over and over.

I got married there in Nov 2008. It was a perfect wedding.
We picked a cake out of the book...it looked good but I didn't think it tasted good.
Although the food & desserts could not be beat. It was amazing & they even sent us home with about 15 meals & lots of extra desserts.

WE didn't go to Greece although we wanted to go this summer & waited tooo long too book. It was all booked up already. If you want to take advantage make sure you book early.

Good Luck to you.

no i didnt get the Greece Honeymoon because you have to guarantee about 175 on a Saturday night in order to qualify for it....but I don't think we would have used it anyway. They say the hotel is nice but everything else you have to pay for.

Our cake was great. You can go to Jeannies Bakery in East Rockaway and taste her cakes (she's the bakery they use). If you call before and tell her you're a Sand Castle bride I think she will set up a tasting for you.

Good luck and have a great wedding!!!
