Re: Sand Castle Caterers, Franklin Square!
ok i started my own topic earlier today and did not recieve any responses from any of the sand castle brides. so here goes i copied and pasted my post from that topic here. please help out.this post is for all the sandcastle brides of the future and the past. we are going to book the this week but it just seems their payment schedule is outrageous. they want 3/4 of the money for the hall within the first 12 months. we are not getting married until 10/2008 so that leaves over 2 years of no payments. is that crazy to anyone else but us. i would like to stretch it out maybe over the course of the two years so we still stay in contact with them instead of nothing for such a long period of time. has anybody had any experience with them? are they willing to make changes to this schedule from your experiences? everywhere else we went it was like $1000-$2000 every two months or something.any of your help would be greatly appreciated we are starting to stress about this and so is our families and our planning has only begun. thank you in advance melissa and tom.

Sorry I missed your other post. I am paying a bit each month by choice, but I will check my contract when I get home. I thought the payment plan was that you had to pay a certain percentage by a certain amount of time before the wedding, but I could be wrong. I'll get back to you!

tonimike - how funny our night is a fireman's thing too!!!! lol My MOH said she had to back out of my wedding because she had a hot date that night (she planned on finding one at the firemans thing lol) the girls are excited!I was worried about the payments and I had asked for a different payment plan. They were very flexable and I could have done a monthly payment plan. I decided to stay with the one they had on the contract since it was just a year and it worked out good. When I was worried about making a Christmas payment of $3,500 they knocked it down to $2,500 after I signed the contract. Just talk to them they are great!!!

Re: Sand Castle Caterers, Franklin Square!
Hey ladies another update on their cake. last Saturday a co-worker of mine sister got married there. She said the food and service was excellent as were the drinks and that the cake was good. It wasn't fantastic but not terrible as I had been hearing. Seemed like her and her family were very pleased with it. You know how tempted I was to attend the cocktail hour to check it out!

Are you using their placecards? Or doing something else? I am just curious as to what they look like.

Re: Sand Castle Caterers, Franklin Square!
Their place cards are just basic white tent cards that you fill in the M________ and Table _______I wanted to do small silver frames (which I bought already). After talking with them the idea of a scroll came up instead. So now I have three options floating around of what I want to do. I think I might just stick with the frames though since I already bought them. I am doing table names instead of numbers and they said that is perfectly fine.
I love the votives but i refuse! I had been to an event at Floral T. and it set my suede coat on fire! They did nothing for me at either place so since then I'm trying to stay away from having too many candles.
Forgot to say their cards are basic white and do not say SandCastle on them just the fill in the blank of M and table.

Re: Sand Castle Caterers, Franklin Square!
Thank you so much for the great details on the place cards. I also love the votive idea but wont be doing it because I am having way too many people. I just might stick with the cards. Decisions, decisions.

Re: Sand Castle Caterers, Franklin Square!
Darren and I have NO issues with payments at all. I'm sure if you speak with your BM they can help you out with your concern. Communication is key in planning your wedding. Voice how you feel, and they shouldn't have a problem. Their very accomodating. Good Luck, and keep us posted!!

Re: Sand Castle Caterers, Franklin Square!
Hi Girls!!! Getting married at Sandcastle in 11 weeks!! I am so excited. Went to pick up place cards. They are plain like everyone said, but I am putting them in the votive/picture frame heart holders. I wanted to have them lit but the cards will probably go up in flames. Ohh well.I have only heard amazing things about the food and service.
I got the trip and only garanteed130 people.
Also, I was a little disappointed because I was told their would be an indoor garden by the time my wedding came (booked Jan. of 05) but they told me the other night they couldn't get the permits. Ohh well, I am praying for sunshine!!! I am sooo happy for all of us and I will certainly let you all know how the wedding goes.
I want a food tasting too but they said no to that and the cake tasting. I guess we all just have to trust in them!

Re: Sand Castle Caterers, Franklin Square!
Speaking of payments, I didn't have a hard time working out a schedule with them, but one of the payments I mailed in was credited to the other wedding being held my night. (The groom's last name is only one letter off from mine.)I know mistakes happen and they were nice about fixing it, but watch your deposit slips! Make sure you keep track of everything, especially if you are mailing payments.
They have been really great so far, so I am not worried, but I will be sure to keep track of all payments closely.
Is anyone else having their ceremony at SC? I think I might be alone in this one...

Re: Sand Castle Caterers, Franklin Square!
To keep you guys updated they were very accommodating and worked with us on a payment schedule. I think its b/c we booked so far in advance. We had Patty as a BM and she is the best. She worked with us on everything and just sold the place to us better than I think anyone else could have. We did get the honeymoon to Greece and are guaranteeing 135 for a sat. night. The only thing that stinks is they close the hotel the end of October b/c Greece has a winter just like us so we are going to use it for our one year ann. alittle early maybe last week of sept. to first week of Oct. 09. Well hall is booked and now just kicking back and enjoying being newly engaged. Maybe in a month we will start to really research other vendors ( photo,dj,etc.)

Hey guys just wondering if anyone else is going to the bridal showcase they are hosting on March 7? Look forward to seeing some of you there. I guess this is a good time to see some of their vendors since we have yet to begin the search for anything yet. Wow 2008 seems so far away but I just know the time will fly by.Welcome New Vendors
