san ceremonies are awesome!!!

but i do have a suggestion. i went to a wedding recently where they had one. and what they did was... they has a little packet of sand for all the guests. then the guests came up and dumped their sand into the 2 different glasses. when they were done, they combined the 2. it was cool... except one thing. because all the guests went up to the 'alter'... they would converse withthe bride and groom. the entire sand ceremony took about 20 minutes when it was supposed to take 4-5 minutes. the other alternative is to just do it yourselves, instead of involving your guests

Re: Sand ceremony

you face eachother and hold hands and the priest has a whole thing he goes through...like

These are the hands of your best friend. They are holding yours on your wedding day as you promise to love each other today, tomorrow and forever.

These are the hands that will work alongside yours as together you build your future.

These are the hands that will passionately love you and cherish you through the years, and with the slightest touch will comfort you like no other.

These are the hands that will hold you when fear or grief wracks your mind.

thats just a part of it

the hands ceremony sounds really nice!!

Marisa, I definatley think the sand ceremony will be a really nice thing to do with your wedding. You could do you sand's in two different colors from your color scheme...

Re: Sand ceremony

My MOH just had the sand ceremony but it she had every guest come up so it did take about 25 minutes. It was beautiful however and very moving. There was not a dry eye there.

i really like the idea of everyone coming up, but i just dont think we have the time to do that in our ceremony.

i think the jar with the sand would be a nice thing to display in our future home too.

Re: Sand ceremony

well if you're ok with the 25 minute process... thats fine. just be sure to plan that into the ceremony time. the couple that got married DIDNT, and it got dark really quick. lol

Re: Sand ceremony

haha, we have an hour for the ceremony at the rh, but the first half hour is going to be a hospitality hour. they serve coffee tea and sweets to the guest as they arrive. the the actually ceremny is only a half hour and leads right into the cocktail hour.
