For those of you who are using sand dollars in place of place cards, how are you writing on them? what are you using? are you even writing on them? Help Please! TIA

My mom is using a paint based calligraphy pen. Though we haven't tested it yet, but it should work. I have a giant box of sanddollars in the other room, so we should be testing it soon.

the sharpie marker bleeds. i am using a calligraphy pen it works best!

I was going to write on them and decided last minute not to. Thank god I didn't because my seating arraigments have changed 3 times so far from people canceling and people adding on. This is what I am doing.
The calligrapher doing my invitation envelopes told me not to try to write directly onto the sand dollars. She said it's very difficult and she's had bad experiences with it. She suggested attaching a tag to them.
