We had an amazing honeymoon! Before we left we read a few not so great reviews about Sandals Antigua and i was a little worried. Well this place totally exceeded our expectations. The grounds are gorgeous. DH couldn't stop talking about how every plant, tree and shrub is different! I never felt like there was a lot of people there. It was always quiet when walking through the paths. Just the sound of frogs and birds, which i loved! The beach is so beautiful. We spent our first night there watching the sunset while floating in the ocean. It was unbelievable. The food was awesome! All of the restaurants were great. Eleanors was the only one that we thought was ok (Caribbean food). Every night we would go to the Cricketers Pub and get nachos, wings, burgers, chocolate creme brulee, cheese cake and so many other delicious things! The drinks were made really well too. Everyone is so friendly and they really go above and beyond to make sure everyone is happy and having a good time. We did a helicopter tour which booked on our own before we left with Cariibbean Helicopters. That was the most amazing experience! We did an Eco tour with Island Safari, that was so much fun! yeah it seemed like every bad review complained about not being able to find pool chairs and waiting long for pizza and drinks at the swim up bar...glad to hear it's not true! did you stop over in puerto rico and if so did it take long to transfer? i only have an hour in between my flights and i have a feeling i will end up running through the airport to catch the next flight...thx again!

we didn't have a problem going there. We took the 8:15am American Airlines flight with less than an hour lay over in San Juan. No problem making the connection. The way back was a different story. A very long frustrating story, but i wrote an email to American and ended up getting a voucher towards our next flight. Basically there were mechanical problems with the plane and we ended up having to stay in Antigua an extra night at a not so great hotel. And then after five hours in the airport the next day we left Antigua, but when we got to San Juan all of the flights to JFK were booked! We had to flip out on the people at American and we got seats on the last flight out. It was crazy but we made it home!
