Sandals... how to decide?

Sandals... how to decide?

We are looking at the all-inclusive places like Sandals.. But they all look the same to me! How do you decide between them? any recommendations or advice?

I think they kind of all are the same. It's just more of a question of do you want to go to Jamaica or Puerto Rico or wherever they have their locations. Also, I think I remember reading that one of the Sandals locations is adults only. Some people don't want little kids around during what shouls be the most romantic week of their lives. (Or parents go away for a week without the kids don't want to be reminded by other kids.)

We looked at what each facility had available and the night life of each as well as the island.

We decided on St. Lucia, so then we looked at what each one had. For example- The Grande had more water sports available, but the Golf and Spa had more restaurants. Things like that. In the end we went to the Golf and Spa and could not have been happier!! It was excellent!!

I simply adore Sandals. I have been to several. For Jamaica, Ocho Rios is the most romantic....been to Dunns River and they some nice restaurants but it's easy to just eat at Dunns River. (You can play at all of them) ....I have been to the Sandals in Negril....and also prefered Ocho Rios to that one as well. Ok...the Bahamas one was wonderful with a great spa. I haven't been to St. Lucia but would love to. Sandals is great, so much to do, but be aware...everyone goes to their rooms early and barely uses the 'nightclub' so if you want to party, go to an island like the Bahamas that has a nightlife you can participate in. FI and went out in Jamaica , had a great time, but it was a bit 'shady'

We are going to Sandals Regency in St. Lucia on our Honeymoon. We decided because many couples we know went there and loved it. I heard you really can't go wron with any Sandals resort escpecially in St. Lucia. There website has a lot of info and pics to look at. We finally decided on the Regency because of the room we choice. Good Luck!

We told our travel agent what we wanted in our HM, so she recommend St. Lucia Golf & Spa, and LOVED it

I vote same as christy... we went to Grande St. Lucian and had a blast!!! It was absolutely amazing! You should pick an island that has more then one sandals on it.. For example, st. lucia has 3 resorts... you can stay at the grande and visit the other 2 resorts for dinner.

All Sandals are adults only. Most of my clients like going to St Lucia because you have 3 to choose from. If you stay at 1 you have the option of going to the other 2 for dining and activities.

Wow - i don't feel so alone; Bryan and i are going to Sandals St. Lucia Regency as well.

I heard nothing but great things about Sandals resorts. IMO, I think all-inclusives are a perfect way to honeymoon - you don't have to worry about your meals, activities, etc. Everything is take care of... all you have to do is show up and enjoy.

I love when I see my own threads bumped up LOL

we STILL have not decided...

FH just started working as a bartender for wyndham so he gets some kind of deal if he stays at any wyndhams, so we need to look more into that before we decide for sure.....

Re: Sandals... how to decide?

Each Sandals Resort has its own personality.
It really depends on what you like to do. Some resorts have golf, some specialize in spas, some have great water sports. Go on the website and compare them!

It depends which Island you are contemplating on visiting. for your comfort, they are all really nice, it's just a matter of preference, i.e, Jamaica, St. Lucia, Bahamas, etc. ONce you know where you would like to vacation then you can look into which resort.

Each island has at least two Sandals.

Re: Sandals... how to decide?

We are looking to stay at one of the Sandals in St. Lucia. I was reading other posts and I heard that some people had probems with bug bites in the oceanfront rooms. The Lagoon swim up room sounds really cool... I am not sure which room/resort to go for.

We are going to St. Lucia and staying at the sister club to LeSport, called Rendevous. Sandals was an option but we wanted something all-inclusive that was smaller and a little less expensive.
