Sandals Jamaica - Ocho Rios or Montego Bay (repost from hm brd)

Hey guys. We are narrowing down our honeymoon options and we are thinking about either Sandals Montego Bay or Ocho Rios.

At Montego Bay we would have the Honeymoon Waters Edge Concierge Room it has a balcony/patio and whirlpool tub (anyone know if it fits two people? )

at Ocho Rios we would have the honeymoon penthouse oceanfron concierge Room has balcony overlooking water but no tub.

The price difference is only about $200 and I think the rooms are pretty similar. I guess it depends on which is a better resort. Has anyone been to either of these two (or even better both?) Please let me know you opinion on which one would make a better mini honeymoon spot (we are only going for 4 nights)

Well I've never been to either, but we're most likely staying at the Whitehouse. I always read tripadvisor.com and the Ochios Rios got alot of bad reviews and people said the rooms were really dated. I didn't read anything bad about Montego Bay except that it's right by the airport so you have airplanes going over your head alot.

We stayed at the Sandals Whitehouse for our honeymoon and it was amazing!! All the rooms are on the water so you don't have to upgrade...the food was delicious including a french bakery. If you have the choice I would definately recommend it!

I heard complaints about the whitehouse saying that it was a hassle to do any of the activities. They said that you had to go somewhere else if you wanted to take advantage of the things that are included. Is this true? How far is it? (i know that sometimes people exaggerate so maybe it´s not that far)

we stayed at ocho rios and it was great however it is a 2 hour bus ride from the airport and it was the scariest most nauseating ride ever. so if i ever go back to jamaica, montego bay it is!

FH and I went to Whitehouse last summer on vacation and it was amazing! We took the trip to Dunn's River Falls and stopped at other Sandals and none were as nice as Whitehouse. I know it's a bit far out, but we didn't care, it was super relaxing!!

I've stayed at Montego Bay and Whitehouse. Montego Bay is the flagship Sandals, and is a little more dated than some of the other resorts, but we really liked it. A lot to do right in the area also.

You had to travel a lot for excursions at Whitehouse (really nothing was right near the resort, but it was very relaxing). And Whitehouse just opened in 2005 so it's in great condition.

I don't know about Ocho Rios personally, but I know there are excursions to do right near there as well.
