Anyone ever been? FH and I are thinking about it for our honeymoon and I'd like some feedback from someone who's been there. Is it good???

Re: Sandals Ocho Rios
I have been to Sandal Grande Ocho Rios, with FH last March. For the years that I have been dying to go to a sandals resort, I must say that I was really disappointed.
If you want breakfast in bed, then you have to get an upgraded room with room service, which is a lot more expensive.
The rooms are not spectacular. I was told if I wanted to stay in an exclusive hotel in Jamaica for my honeymoon, I should look into Couples Resorts, and The Royal Plantation.
HTH! FM me if you have any additional questions.

Re: Sandals Ocho Rios
FH & I went there on vacation 4 years ago. It's a pretty resort; very big-(if you're talking about the Sandals Grande Ocho Rios). They have the two sides-Manor & Riveria. We stayed on the riveria side which is where the beach is (otherwise you have to take a shuttle over to each side just to go to the beach). It was a lot of fun. Definetely not the luxury vacation i imagined; but we enjoyed the food; the beach; the activites; the drinks and the huge 4 poster king size bed!!
Wish i had taken more pictures of the room/resort!
My sister went there for her wedding and enjoyed it; and my co-worker went there on her honeymoon a few years ago.
ETA: Jamaica was/is going through some turmoil right now-but as long as you stay on the resort and only take guided tours you should be ok. My co-worker is Negril w/his girlfriend right now. I'll let you know how he felt safey wise next week.

Re: Sandals Ocho Rios
Sandals Ocho Rios is huge, and personally I didnt find the beach as nice as others in Jamaica..
I stayed there for 6 nights and we had a good time.. .but I'd definately recommend Sandals Dunns River over Ocho Rios...
And above all.. Sandals Whitehouse is gorgeous.
Most of the turmoil in Jamaica is in the Kingston area - about 3 hours away from the resort areas.

Go to the Negril side of the island, you will not disappointed.
I just went to Negril, Couples Swept Away in Feb and it was AMAZING!
