I've been doing research for months and we came down to deciding if we should book 5 nights @Sandals Grande St Lucia in Beachfront Penthouse, Oceanfront Penthouse or Swim -up Lagoon suite. Then 2 nights @Regency in less grade room i think its just called luxury suite. Anyway its working out to be like $5,500 which is alot and I dont mind spending it as long as its worth it. We are big into eating good food and I've heard its not that great. I've also heard that the Concierge service is really horrible and I dont want to pay the extra money on on upgraded room if then. I've heard many good things too, but I juts don't know if its too much of a gamble. IM SO UNDECIDED !! HEEEEELLLLPPP.
Anyone have any input or better places to go in November?

We booked Sandals St Lucia -- Grande, Oceanfront Penthouse Concierge. I've heard the concierge is helpful, but to be honest we booked it because only concierge level and above include room service and an in-room bar, which we wanted. The concierge is just a nice perk that happens to come along with it.
I can't really tell you more since we havent gone yet, but its a very popular honeymoon choice for people on here so there should be a lot of others who can help you out

Re: Sandals St Lucia- Good or Bad??
ive been going through the same thing and researching like CRAZY. no matter how much i research i find that people either love it or hate it.
from people ive personally talked to, who have gone to both the sandals at antigua and st lucia, i have gotten nothing but amazing reviews on st lucia. ive heard that they have had the times of their lives and that st lucia is gorgeous and offers a lot of excursions out of the resort.
personally i would go for it. ive noticed that a lot of the negative reviews on tripadvisor seem to be from people who are overly picky and have an extrememly high standard. its an island, and not as developed as their accustomed to here. the food is not going to be amazing, but thats expected on any island. its not going to be horrible either though. its your honeymoon and youll be able to make the best of it

Re: Sandals St Lucia- Good or Bad??
Sandals Regency in St Lucia was beyond amazing, most beautiful resort we have seen to date, and we have been all over. We stayed in the Bluff suites with our own plunge pool, view was great. If you go to the Regency, just go to the pool above, the one below is way too packed, like a public pool and not as pretty, the one above by the bluff suites is where its at, a hidden treasure. But the amenities, beach and view are something we would go back for someday, why we wouldnt go back sooner the food, not so good. Good luck with whatever you choose, we are thinking about going to one of the Excellence Resorts in Cancun for our one year anniversary coming up in June of 2008. P.S. the food at all of the sandals resorts in St Lucia we would rate as a 4 on a scale of 1-10. Depends if you and your FH are picky or simple eaters, as you wont find much chicken, steak, potatoes or lobster or shrimp at really any of these places, they had mostly exotic, odd food. The tropical drinks are very watered down as well as the juices, which we found rather strange. My husband didn't care for any of the food and we got to eat at all three sandals resorts while is in St. Lucia. The Regency by far out outshines all the other sandals resorts in St Lucia, second choice for St. Lucia would be the Grande, the Halycon was very old, dirty and very run down but it did have one of the best restaurants on the pier. Good Luck in you choice of resorts.....

Re: Sandals St Lucia- Good or Bad??
I just got back from staying at the Sandals Halcyon and it was so nice- we had an oceanfront view room and also an in room bar but we didn't want the butler service so we opted not to get that.
We visited both the Grande and the Regency- they are really nice but also bigger- the Regency has a really great French restaurant as well as a Japanese restaurant which is really good too- but you need reservations for both and we got lucky with that.
If you like quiet and quaint, then I would suggest the Halcyon instead- DH and I were really happy with the staff and the service and our room had an in room bar as well. We found the other two (Grande and Regency) to not be as great- the staff wasn't as friendly and the service was a bit slower.
The food and drink though was really good and if you still end up at the Grande or Regency travel over to the Halcyon.

Re: Sandals St Lucia- Good or Bad??
My mom and her husband have been there and loved it St. Lucia and Antigua were there favortie Sandals resorts. My sister and her husband went to St. Lucia (Sandals) for their HM. They had some good things to say-like they could relax and enjoy the place b/c its all inclusive. The concierge was great during the welcome but on check out day they felt rushed and the concierge was unfriendly. The food was good but they became bored with it after a few days. They thought it was good for Honeymooners who would rather relax than be exploring the island and trying to find a place to eat. All in all they were happy, but may not go back again. GL HTH
