Re: Sandels

I went to Sandals Royal Bahamian on my honeymoon, and was not terribly impressed. I found the food to be very 'native' to the carribbean, and not at all my taste. The rooms were clean, but nothing exciting. We stayed for 10 days, and that was too long.

Re: Sandels

I have been to both Sandals. I will share my story. We went to Sandals Antigua Aug 2001. We had MAJOR problems there. Us, along with many other couples were complaining. We ended up getting a free trip out of it to any sandals. We used it for Bahamas. Bahamas was alot bigger and better. If you are trying to decide between the two, I definetely recommend Bahamas hands down! If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Re: Sandels

Cindy,

Thanks for responding! At the Bahamas was there alot to do both day & night? Is it somewhere that you would go to for your honeymoon?

As someone posted earlier, was there not much choice in types of food?

Re: Sandels

Jodi,
It was alot better than Antigua. It was bigger. If you have your heart set on Sandals I would definetely go to Bahamas. I am very picky when it comes to food, so I am not crazy for All Inclusive. I just think it isnt as good as going to a regular restaurant on your own. It is just my opinion. It really depends what you are looking for on your honeymoon. Also, Bahamas Sandals doesnt have a beach. If you are looking for beach, I wouldnt go there. I forgot to mention that. If I can help you with anything else, let me know.

Re: Sandels

We were at Sandals Royal Bahamian this July for our honeymoon... we were really surprised at how nice it was! I am told it has been upgraded some since last year. There is a beach... not enough to stroll on, but enough to sit on the beach if you like. The pools were very clean, as were all the jacuzzis, the room was kept spotless, room service was great! I was worried about the food, I come from a family where everything is always homemade ect.. but as far as resort food goes I would say that the restuarants were all very good! The grill one opened only during the day & I could have done without that, but everywhere else was good! As for activities... well you make it as active as you want to!! There are things (pool/ beach volleyball, exercise classes, water sports for daytime and evening was music, bars, boardgames, jacuzzi time , comedy shows, native shows ect.). There is only as much to do as you want!! We kept to our selves a lot & relaxed, but did hang out with 2 different couples & did day trips & hada great time!! Ask more if I didn't ramble enough!!

Re: Sandels

We went to Sandals Montego Bay, Jamaica for our honeymoon, and it was perfect! The food was great, and the beach was gorgeous. There was definitely a night life at the restort, and we loved every minute of it. Highly recommend it!!! Plus, you got to take the shuttle bus to the nearby Sandals Resorts, which was fun to do.
