Sapphire Club/Lounge in NYC

Has anyone been there? Any good? How's the crowd?

I spoke to some of the management about possibly DJing there. I am probably going to head down there tomorrow night to check it out in person.

Just wanted to get some feedback if anyone's been there. I think its in the East Village.

Yup. Thats the place. Any good?

I thought I read somewhere that they allow you to smoke in there... regardless of the law. Do you know if that is true?


EDIT: Oh and if you think it sucks... just be honest. I want to be prepared when i go in there asking for the owner.

well, it DOESNT let you smoke in there... we kinda DID, but hid it... to be honest i dont remember TOO much. ( iwent on my birthday and was already drunk upon arriving) BUT i remembe rthey played ALOT og hip-hop type music. i had fun. so did the people that went for my party. it was a good time. but most of the music was hip-hop/rap/pop

Ok sounds good. I am going there tomorrow night to check it out. They are looking for somebody to do Rock, 80s, new wave, and some old-school HipHop for Thursday nights I think.

Lets see what happens.

good luck. i hated the songs the DJ there played. that would be a good thing if you played that type of music.
