Sat Afternoon Bat Mizfah - What do I Wear?

Help! I'm not Jewish but we are going to my fi's cousin's bat mitzfah (his family's not jewsih either - long story) this Saturday afternoon - after the temple, the reception will be at the Coral House. Do I dress like its a Sat night (black strapless) or something more casula like a sundress - but its WAY too cold for that!! Can anyone advise?

I'd say right inbetween. Can the black strapless be dressed down just a tad?

If it's a Saturday afternoon Bat Mitzvah don't wear a strapless dress, that's too fancy. Wear what you would wear to an afternoon wedding.

I would have to say no to the black strapless.

I actually had a bar mitvah this past saturday and I wore a black suit. Hope this helps..

something casual...i havent been to a bar mitvah in a long time so I wouldnt even know what to wear. I would wear something nice but not too dressy. Maybe a nice pants outfit or a nice dress with sleeves.

Thanks ladies....I have a wrap dress I can wear with 3/4 sleeves that should work. Now if it were just warm enough to wear the strappy shoes. ARGH!

I don't have an answer for you. But I was wondering the same thing. I have a Bat Mitzvah on May10th and then the reception is a pool party for the kids and food for adults. Any ideas what to wear to that?
