Re: Save money on flowers?
I am eliminating flowers as centerpieces at the reception - that's saving ~$800...

I am having candle centerpieces...saves $$. Also, silk flowers these days look so real and aren't too expensive.

You can use my florist. He's really inexpensive. And use a fabric chuppah - no one *needs* a really flowery one.
Donald Hedgecock's info is on my Vendor page: Page
There's also info on DIY flowers.

for your huppah, and excuse any misspellings, i am not jewish but my fh is, you can use his tallis and attach it to four wooden poles and that is also beautiful! if your reception is at night, go with candles and flower petals. that is also nice. there are millions of ways to do it without looking cheesy.

Use flowers that are in season. In general, white and red roses are the least expensive. Also - Costco has great flowers so maybe you can do them yourself. Personally, i can't imagine having the time to do all of the bouquets and centerpieces plus ceremony flowers but maybe you could do some yourself. Besides Costco - I har some people order flowers online and do the arrangements yourself. Flowers are so expensive. My budget was $2800 and I'm spending close to $6,000 for my bouquet, 3 BM, 14 centerpieces and an arch! It's crazy!!!

OMG! Who are you using for a florist?
I am getting my bouquet, 1 MOH, 10 pedestal CP's, a flower chuppah, bouts for groom and BM, corsages for mom's and grandma's...and I'm paying less than $1500.

I think I saw a ad somewhere for a flower wholesaler in Bellmore. Try looking in the yellow pages and see if they can help you out.

Everyone around here seems to say great things about the prices at Burton's. You could always go and meet with them just to get an idea of what they want to charge. It may come in under the price you are anticipating.
