When is it suggested that you send out your save the dates? I heard 6 mos before. I am a bit concerned b/c 80% of our guests will be traveling from down South and the west coast. Should I send them 8-9mos before since most are flying, it's summer and I don't want them to make other plans before they know? Any suggestions? Thanks ladies Jane

Re: Save the Date?
I sent mine out over a year b4. There's no real set time, I think the earlier the better so your OOT guests can reserve hotel rooms and make transportation arrangements.

Re: Save the Date?
If you feel they will need more time then send them out 9 months prior to the wedding. You just want to make sure you don't send it too early because people may see it's a year from now and lose the STD.

Re: Save the Date?
I sent mine out about a year in advance. Its a holiday weekend, and FH's guests are all OOT, so I wanted to give everyone plenty of nitice.

It's okay, don't worry! 10 months is just as good, but if you have a lot of OOT guests, then I would definitely check on hotels sooner than later.

Re: Save the Date?
You can send them whenever you want, but my printer recommended not sending them more than 6 months ahead of time, because if it's too soon, then people tend to lose them.

Thank you, you made me feel better. I don't stress to easily, but suddenly I felt my heart racing 10 months isn't bad. Thanks again

Re: Save the Date?
I sent out STD Magnets about a year before the wedding - it's on Columbus Day weekend and I know that many people go away that weekend and also... over 100 will be flying in to attend. We were afraid that they may lose them so we did the magnet and every house we walk in....there we are....right on the fridge!

Re: Save the Date?
I have a lot of out of town guests that need to book flights etc. I say the earliest the better. 1 year is good.
