How long before your wedding should you send out 'Save the Date Cards?'

I plan on giving them out with our favors at our engagement party...which is 11 months before our wedding.

I would like to send them out but next month, thats about 10 months from the wedding, especially to give OOT's plenty of time. I know during the summer a lot of people go away, so maybe they can even make the wedding day part of their vacation.

Most people say anywhere from a year to 9 months.

We sent ours so that everyone received them on the one year before date. But you can really send them anytime.

it all depends on why you're sending them out.

if you're doing a destination wedding or have a lot of oot guests, then you want to give your guests enough time to make plans. remember, there will be guests who might have to take time off from work and/or make travel plans.

some of your guests might have to save up money to be able to do all of that.

with all of that said, i sent mine out in march and my wedding is in october. that's seven months.

I am getting married 9/15/07 and I am sending out mine soon ~ I am in the process of getting them all completed once i do that they are in the MAILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
