Save the Date Cards

Hi,

Does anyone know when is the 'right' time to send out 'Save the Date' cards? I am getting married on 9/12/2010.

Thanks!

Usually they say 6-12 months but I think it depends on your situation. If you have people traveling from another country, or cross country you might want to send them as soon as possible. I sent mine out about 14-13 months before because of that reason and also some family friends also recently got engaged and were looking to book dates in the fall as well. That was a lot lol Hope it helps some!

I'm getting married in September 2010 too and am sending mine this week. The only reason I wanted to send them asap was because my wedding is Labor Day weekend and I know people may be traveling. I wanted to make sure if they were traveling, it was to my wedding lol

I sent mine out a week after my 1-year mark.

i'm a september bride and i plan to send them in january (9 mo mark) or february. i'd send them out sooner but i don't want them getting lost in the holiday shuffle and i haven't had time to buy them.

Re: Save the Date Cards

We sent ours right before Thanksgiving and the wedding date is June 25 . . . It is really up to you and your situation - as the other girls said, if you have a lot of OOTers.

I just sent mine out and I am getting married in July. So I did it like 7.5 months in advance.

I'm sending mine out in the beginning of January and i'm getting married 5 days after you.

I think it'll be a nice way to start out 2010.

Any time at this point would be a good time to send them out.

after the holidays... they might get lost in the midst of x-mas cards etc ... unless its a save the date magnets...

6-12 months before hand

I suggest waiting for the new year. With the holiday season just around the corner...United Postal Serv. will have major delivery issues.

We sent ours out about 9 months before the wedding.
