I really like those Save the Date Magnets and I would like to send them out to my guests. However, I really want to include where the wedding is going to be because although both my fiance and I live in New Jersey, I know that most of his family does not realize that the wedding will be held on Long Island. Therefore they'll probably have to make overnight reservations. All of the magnets that I've seen only show the couple's name and the date. How can I incorporate the location? I figured that I could just put the city and state underneath the date but would you use the town where the church will be or the reception? It probably doesn't make much of a difference but wanted to get some opinions. Thanks girls!!!

Re: Save the Date HELP
I am having both. I love the idea of magnets but there is also a whole bunch of info I need to tell people so they can plan a trip (from upstate)
Im sending a card with info saying STD and hotel, things to do, travel with a magnet enclosed in them so people can put it on their fridge and always remember Im getting married.

Re: Save the Date HELP
I think you should put the city and state of the reception..
You could also make your own ..just buy magnet paper from Michaels or staples and print out anything you want...
Hope this helps..Good Luck

Re: Save the Date HELP
I just sent out my STDs last Monday! I made a card & glued the magnet on, then for outta town guests added a newsletter w/all the info (dates; times; places; addresses, etc.) & also referred them to my wedsite via the card & newsletter (NYers got a card & magnet only referring to the website)
I don't think you'll be able to fit all the info you're talking about onto a magnet, you're probably gonna have to enclose the magnet with something else

Re: Save the Date HELP
I'm getting married at the end of September this year, is it too late to send STD's? These STD ideas are just so cute...I want to make them. I just feel silly since I just ordered my wedding invitations last weekend.

Re: Save the Date HELP
I made our STDs, and included a magnet as well. The packet had a letter from us to our guests, and tiered pages with information on the wedding (church and reception info and times), travel and accomadations. They were a big hit w. our guests!

Inside:
I made them in Powerpoint. I also made the magnet, I used magnet sheets from Xerox that I got from Staples. I used a cute bride and groom icon that I found online, and a quote from Shakespeare:
'So long as I can breathe or I can see so long lives your love, which gives life to me.'
I love going to our friends houses and seeing our magnet on the fridge. We sent our STDs out in January for our Labor Day weekend wedding.
