Save the date magnets...

Not sure if anyone is interested in this.. but I figured I'd post anyway.. I know the new thing in all the invite books and websites is those save the date magnets. And they are quite pricey! So originally I was going to do postcards, but FH didn't like that idea. He really wanted the magnets, so I gave in. I purchased all the supplies from Office Max, but when I got home to try and print the business cards I had no luck! Luckily I didn't open the packages yet.

So I went online and found this great website that makes business cards. Printsmadeeasy.com. I designed them online, saw a proof and ordered them. They came out to be 14.99 for 100 and with shipping the total was 21.00.

I will let you know what they look like when they come in. Hopefully I won't be kicking myself! (Or rather my FH since it was his idea!)

Thanks for asking, since I had totally forgot to mention that part!

I actually bought from Office Max business card magnets that are peel and stick. They come in pkgs. of 25, 50 and 100. My pack of 100 cost 22.99. Combined with the cards themselves and the envelopes, the whole total is 51.00. Alot cheaper than the ones I originally wanted. With a guest list over 300, you have to cut corners whenever you can!

They will be here by next Wednesday the latest. I can't wait... I went out on a limb, so I hope they turn out ok. But we did them together, so neither of us can blame the other one! The site was a great one, with so many different backgrounds, fonts, colors... I had a hard time choosing. I made 10 different ones. Cause I had to see what they all looked like as Save the Dates, instead of just business cards!

Hey, thats what friends are for~
The site has a lot to offer.. You just have to take the time to make a few proofs so as to get out of the 'business card' mode and into the STD mode. It might be hard at first to visualize it, but trust me, I actually had a hard time choosing which one I liked more!

what type of verse did you use though? I did one this morning but it didn't fit! I want to try to get them done on Sunday!

I didn't do any special verse or anything.. Just save the date, Erin and Brian (last names too)

You can import an image. My advice is to just make sure it will fit. That you don't over stretch it or make it too small. The site actually tells you when you have over stretched an image! Which was a really good help, cause I thought they often looked ok.

Can't seem to put the picture up here.. It's in Adobe which is a pain in my.... you get the picture.. I'm gonna try to print it out and scan it in. We'll see what happens...

Just an update: I made two of them and they look awesome. Its ashame I cant copy and paste them on here for all to see. Im going to show FH and see which one he likes better.

I'm glad you guys like the STD magnet idea.. they seem to be something new, but soooo expensive in all the mag's and websites!
I'm all for doing the work to save a few bucks!
And I didn't even think of using a picture!! Great idea! Then again, Kim51103 you must be great, since we both picked the best place for our receptions!
