Save the date question

I am hoping to send our STD's out one year from our wedding date. But the hotel our OOT will be staying in cannot be booked until January '06. (annoying i know, but not negotiable)
should i include hotel info in STD, but say cannot be booked until Jan?
or wait and include it in the invites, just send my invites really early?

thanks!

I would say include it with the STD w/ a note

Our hotel could not be booked at the time I sent out our STD's...We have a wedding website, so people can check there for all the information...Otherwise, I will be sending the hotel information with the invite...Changes are people will not make their reservations until it gets closer to the wedding...

I would include it in the STD with a little note saying when you will be booking the hotel.

Re: Save the date question

I was thinking of sending out the hotel info with our STDs... but after thinking about it, the STDs are just to tell people to save the date and not make other plans... when they get their invitation they will still have plenty of time to book the hotel and any flights...so i say wait for the invitation...

I am sending the hotel info with the STD's. The wedding is on a holiday weekend and I don't think that two months would be enough time. What hotel are you using? We are able to block rooms now (if I ever get around to calling the sales person).

I would send out the SDT's with a note ...
or if you have an E-party send them with the invite

Thanks for your help!
It is really annoying that i cannot reserve/book these rooms now. My parents live in Oyster Bay, so this is the closest hotel.

I think you are right, people do not book that far in advance anyway. i will probably just wait until the invite rather than confuse anyone with it in the STD.

I would send them out with a note in the STDs. It's best for the OOTs to have the info so they can make the reservations asap. If you wait there may be a problem with the invitations causing them to come in late, or with the rush of everything else you'll forget to include the accomodations info. I think it's best to get it out of the way now.
