for the location on the save the date, would I put the location of the reception hall or the location of the church?

For simplicity's sake and since we have so many out of state guests, I just put Long Island, NY. We also included hotel information so they would know which hotels were nearby.

We didn't even put a location on our STDs. It's just to save the date, it's not an invitation so you don't have to go into specifics.
ETA: However, I did put our website address on there for anyone who wanted more information before the invitations went out.

I didn't put the location either....but if you have a lot of out of towners I have seen people put little inserts with locations/hotels in them.
