save the date question

looking at the sample std's it seems like most of them are postcard sized...do you mail them in an envelope or as a postcard???? If an envelope, is the std like a card that opens or just one sheet of paper? do you put anything else in the envelope? sorry...need to send out std's but have never gotten one and dont know what they look like!

I mailed mine in an envelope. It depends on the style, I've gotten many as a postcard.

I had a 5x7 folded card along with a magnet. All sent in an envelope.

I am in the process of starting to make mine. I bought the stuff to make them myself. I bought notecards and on the outside I am going to write save the date or something and below it I will have a magnet with our names and the date. I haven't made one yet, I am just getting started, but when I make the first one, I will post it on here.

jenny, you shouldn't send both an invite AND a STD in the same envelope.. you should do 2 separate.. I think it's nicer and more courteous that way..
