Save The Date Question

Save The Date Question

I'm currently getting quotes for STDs. I'm curious how much you guys paid. I'm thinking I need 75-100 to send out. So far I have been quoted around $300-$400 for magnets with envelopes. Do this sound crazy? I thought it was kind of high but I understand that its a custom design so maybe it's not that bad.

Yes Crazy! lol
I did mine on Vista Print, got 50 magnet STDs, with envelopes, and on sale...lol it was about $20.
Now of course that isn't custom designed but I feel like being more than 10x that price is a bit crazy.
If you're dead set on a custom one, you could always check etsy, there are plenty of designers that can custom create an image for you to downlonad (prices usually around $20-$60 depending on designer) then just use that image on vistaprint! The groupon vistaprint sale is going on right now so for $17 and whatever the design costs you can get 'custom' magnets! lol I'm like the macguiyver of being frugal!

Edited: Here is an example of an etsy design that's downloadable so you can get an idea, there are tons out there though..this one is only $17!

Yeah that seems really pricey to me. I got 50 std magnets from vistaprint for $25 with envelopes. Like meejack said, you can use your own custom design on vistaprint. I should be getting mine today or tomorrow so I can let you know how the quality is. A positive side note is that time is on your side so I would keep shopping around. HTH!

this seller has tons of designs on her seller page and only charges 50 cents per STD for custom designs any color any picture. So you can still do your custom design and pay alot less for it!

I am planning on spending about $200 for 150 STDs. They have hundreds of templates that you can still tweak and design. It comes with the magnet, and wrapped in a cute card (to avoid sticking) tissue paper and ribbon.

They can send you free samples (which i love) so you can see the quality!

The issue is that it's a custom design of two cartoon mangoes dressed as a bride and groom. It's not a standard save the date design. I wish I knew someone who could just make me the graphic and I would upload it but I haven't found anyone. Do you ladies know anyone??

The woman on etsy that does the .50c STDs only needs a file of the image and the same probably follows for the VistaPrint STDs- if you can get a visual of the STD image from the place you originally were going to buy STDs from, you can upload that image in to any website and make the STDs that way

The above STD is super cute! The quote you got is not crazy for custom design. I'm doing a post card because I wanted a vintage feel to them and I'm paying $350 for 125 of them.

That's definitely a lot of money, unless you have room in your budget for it.

That's a lot even for a custom design! I didn't want to go crazy with the STD's. There are so many to choose from that it got overwhelming. I finally decided on the ones in my 'All things wedding' album. I ordered 75 of them from Zazzle for $125.

I paid $260 plus shipping for 100 magnets, without envelopes. You're not paying for the materials, but for the creation of the design and the graphic designer's time. Admittedly, as cute as my save the dates are, I definitely spent waaaay too much money on them!

BTW, bride and groom Mangoes is the greatest, most adorable thing ever!
