save the dates

I was wondering what the average time is for sending out save the date cards. I'm getting married 10/7....I was planning to send them the end of Feb. Is that too close?

I'm gettin married before you and have only just begun putting it together to send out. Hopefully but this week they'll be on their way. One thing at a time. right?
