I don't know if I should do them or not. I want to book a photographer so we can take engagement pictures but I don't know. How far in advance are the STDs ususally sent out? A year? Are any of you ladies going to send them out?
Originally, my date was in April of 08. We had the E-Party last July and I made them as favors for my guests. But we switched the dates, so I am going to make new ones. But like you mentioned, I want to put a picture from our engagement shoot. But that won't be until this December. Sooo i will probably send them out in January, which will be about 11 months in advance. I think you can send them out whenever you want. I think it would make more sense though to send them out around the 1 year mark.
yeah usually for holiday weekend weddings its a year...other than that you can do it 8-10 months ahead of time...you have time to wait to book your photographer and take e-pics
I'm definitely going to send them out only because the wedding is so far away but I'm not going to do it until a year to 8 months before the wedding. I figure since it's the summertime people will be making more plans than usual so the sooner the better.
deffinitly, were actually looking at these really cute ones, there a deck of cards with your engagement photo or any photo on them. Also were looking at a STD magnet for the fridge, I personally like the magnets better because if someone doesnt play cards they dont forget. the sooner you send them out, the sooner they know that they have something to do that day!

I feel the same way, I am also afraid because mine is about 2 years away now that what if someone has a baby or something pops up and there is suddenly a baptism or birthday party on that day.

I think the save the dates are a really cute idea. I want to make them part of the favors for our engagement party this summer. It probably won't be anything big, just a few close friends and family. I will mail out the rest.
We had our engagement party in september and i never even gave save the dates a thought. i heard about them on here and i too thought what a great idea!
i am definitely going to send out save the dates. I too like the magnet ones and i think i will put a picture of my fiance and i on it.
