I only did it because our wedding is on a holiday weekend. If you're looking for a cheap option, try VistaPrints. We got ours there.....200 for free, only paid like $5 in shipping charges! + cost of postcard stamps

I did them mostly bec of OOT'ers and June is a popular month. You dont need to do them, waste of money

The only reason I did them was because my wedding is on a Friday and FH's family has to travel.

You don't have to do them. I wouldn't worry about it!

i agree. we didn't do them. the less people that come, the less we spend

but if it were a holiday weekend, i might have done them (though i doubt it...)

You don't have to do them at all!!! The reason we did them was because our wedding is less than a month after Christmas - so we wanted people to be able to plan appropriately!

If you are feeling bad about not doing them - you can always do magnets from Vistaprint.com - they are VERY cheap & the quality is great! You could get 100 for less than 25-30 dollars!

It's 100% your call....never feel pressured to keep up with what people here are doing! If you don't want to do them - don't....

Lots of people are doing things like cry packs, flip flop baskets, bathroom baskets....but we're not! Do what you are comfortable with and more importantly comfortable with PAYING FOR!!

we did this too...ordered postcards from vistaprint..i think i paid like $25 (but i ordered way too many!!) and they came out cute. just have to pay for postage which is less for a postcard.

No i do not think it is wrong to not send out STD's at all...it def has become more popular these days, but not a necessity at all...we did them simply b/c our wedding is on a holiday...it is all up to you

We didnt do them. We already had our date when we sent out our engagement announcements so we put it on there.

It's not a must to do them. DH and I are doing them because wedding is on a holiday weekend.

Re: Save the dates

We didn't do save the dates. It has taken forever to get our guest list addresses together. I think they are necessary when its a destination wedding or a holiday, but otherwise, it is not a necessity, just an added bonus. (or another thing to do if you are the bride )
