Ok sooooo… our photographer provides us with save the dates... they are post card style, i think they are so beautiful BUT the problem is i want to do magnet save the dates. I asked our photographer last night at our engagement photo shoot how much they would cost. Since they normally don’t do STD it would be $400 for 100!! yuppp i think thats crazy!! I have seen so many websites that u can get 100 for $100... so i asked them instead of them doing STD for me could i get something else. They told me no. So i went ahead and just ordered the ones they are giving me bc they are free. But now today i'm thinking i really really want to do magnets. So my question is... would it be stupid to send out the ones they made and the magnets together??? Sorry for novel.. i'm just so confused!! Thanks

I wonder if you can purchase magnets from Michaels and make the magnets yourself...placing the free card from the photographer onto a magnet. Not sure if this is possible but it might just work and save you $.

you can always by magnetic backing and put it onto the postcards. that or use the ones they bought, scan in the image, and order magnets with that image from vista print or something - maybe you can use the postcards later as a reminder or something? i dunno - it's a good thing you didn't pay the $400 though - that's crazy!

i was thinking of trying that! But i was talking to my MOH today telling her everything and she called a friend of the family who does favors, invites, std for a living and she said it wont look right bc the glue and the paper and how it dries i dont know hahaha!!! i'm still thinking of trying it with one std to see how it would look.

you can buy magnets backs at craft stores, just put them on the postcards so theyre magnets

I agree about putting your own magnets on the back. Craft stores sell rolls of magnet tape so you won't have to use glue. It already has a sticky side. Good luck!!

u can prolly add magnet backs to them and just make them yourself, but if they are free, IMO i would just send them out...why spend more money if you dont have to? But if its something you feel you cant live without, then go for it ;)
