Save The Dates

Hey Ladies just a quick question.

Since my wedding is a year & a half away I am starting to wonder when we should send out the save the date cards?

Any suggestions?

Re: Save The Dates

I've heard you should send them 6-8 months prior to the wedding.
since I'm getting married during a holiday weekend I'm sending mine out a year in advance. But I ultimately think it's up to you because you know your guests and how much advance notice they would need.

Re: Save The Dates

We did our Save the Dates about 10-11 months in advance because it was a summer wedding and a Sunday so we figured people needed to plan

I would say about 6 to maybe 9 months in advance.

I'm getting married on a holiday weekend so I think I'm going to send them out this summer - plus I just like getting things done and it will be one less thing I have to worry about!

I feel the same way! My main concern is for my out of town guests

Re: Save The Dates

We sent ours out about 6 months or so before our wedding date, but everyone already knew the date ages before that. People out of town definitely need to know to arrange flights, transport, lodging, work vacay, and all that other stuff.

I am trying to wait until we book a photog and then do an engagement shoot but IDK if I can wait!! I want them to go out so everyone knows!!

I'd say about 8 months, the sooner the better.

we're giving some out at our e-party, and then doing it about a year in advance because we're getting married over holiday weekend, FH's family is coming from all over, and we just want them done :)

I sent my STD's one year in advance, we are getting married over a holiday weekend. We used maganet street. They did a great job, recommend them highly.

Same for me. I actually handed mine out at my engagement party, which was 11 months before the wedding.

Re: Save The Dates

I would say if you have a lot of people flying in from places, probably the earlier the better so they have time to make flight and hotel arrangements.

I say the sooner the better. Especially if its a holiday!

I think 7-9 months is a good timeframe.
