Save the Dates

Hi all!

I was wondering if anyone has ever seen hotel block info sent with Save the Dates? I don't have a wedding website and I feel like 8-10 weeks out is a little late in the game. Am I nuts? Another thing I'm worried about (and this time I really may be nuts): will magnets stick to the mailbox? I have a fear of them living in the mailbox. I asked my coworker this and she cracked up.

Also, how is everyone/has everyone addressed them? By hand? Labels? Printed envelopes? I ordered the most adorable magnets off etsy so I want them to look super perfect.

I'm seriously lacking save the date knowledge, please help!

And I haven't heard of magnets sticking to the mailbox.

Save the Dates

I handed mine to the teller, don't drop them in the mail box (I have heard other brides worry about the sticking).
I used labels, quick and easy. I had them all ready for when the STD arrived and they went out the next morning. Also, people will throw away the envelope and put the magnet on the fridge, don't stress about the envelope.

Save the Dates

When we ordered our save the date magnets you could also order a magnet carrier card where you can place all that additional info. I ordered from magnet street.

Save the Dates

I added hotel block cards to my save the date cards. My hotel block is up before the RSVP date and I have a lot of people staying so I felt the need to do that. I'm not sure about the magnet, but you raise a good point. I addressed them with labels.

Save the Dates

I added little cards with my save the dates that gave hotel block info. My wedding is the weekend before a holiday so I wanted people to be aware of rooms booking quickly. I used magnets and had no problems with them sticking to the mailbox. I also used labels to address them

Save the Dates

FH cousin that got married did magnet STDs and included a little card with the hotel block information. For my STDs i also did magnets. I printed the addresses right on the envelope and used labels that said 'Future Mr. and Mrs. XXXXXXX.' My FSIL was upset that everyone was getting their STD but she wasn't. A few days later she checked the bottom of her mailbox and it was stuck there.

I've seen little inserts that go along with the STD's with the hotel information.

Re: Save the Dates

I provided my hotel block info on my wedding website which was included on my save the date but I think you can print out something cute and insert it in with the magnets and that would be great!
I addressed all of them by hand. It was just quicker and easier for me that way.

Re: Save the Dates

I think its fine to include it or do a little insert. Its very rare that they stick but if you want to be ont he safe side drop it off at the post office or drop it off in the mailbox in front of the post office. That's what I did and I used labels. It's only a Save the Date. HTH!

Re: Save the Dates

I would put hotel information in the STD's especially if you have a lot of oot guests. They may want to book early!!

Save the Dates

If you have a lot of OOT guests id say put the hotel info with the STD I wouldn't rely on a website anyway I know some of our families are not anywhere near tech savy enough to figure it out. As for the magnets I guess its possible (now you have me worried! Haha). As for the envelope the site we ordered them from came with return address printed on the envelope so we just wrote out the addresses. Its gets chucked anyway like the other girls said. HTH!

Save the Dates

Ok, so I'm not COMPLETELY crazy! Final verdict: I'm going to get hotel cards printed up, use labels and drop off at the window at the Post Office.

You girls are the best, thank you so much for your help!!!!!
