Save the Dates

Do save the dates have to match the wedding?

We took our engagement photos last week and wore two outfits. One set of outfits was red, white, and blue and the other was coral and gray. We wanted to use a coral and gray photo for our save the dates since those are our colors. Unfortunately I think it was too late in the evening when we finally got to our coral/gray outfits because so far none of the pictures have turned out very nicely. They're all pretty dark and have unflattering shadows on my face. I'm really bummed because I already designed gray and coral labels and was going to get coral envelopes, but of course that can be changed.

I just feel weird sending out the RWB ones and having everyone think that'll be our wedding colors, but then having everything in coral and gray at the wedding. ...Tell me I'm overthinking all of this?!

I think its fine. Our save the dates had nothing to do with our wedding color scheme, but did relate to its fall theme. But in any case, I don't think it matters much since its just the save the dates, and not the actual invitations, which I would def have relate to the color scheme.

They don't have to do with your wedding colors at all. Our outfits didn't. We're doing lavender and purples for our wedding and FH wore a teal and blue plaid shirt which he picked out himself, so I just went with that. Go with the pics that came out the best

I did it! Ordered them through vistaprint! I hope they turn out well! Posted a pic in my album.

It looks so great! Did you choose one of their designs or create your own? FH are thinking about buying a digital file on etsy and having it printed through vista print but weren't sure.

Thanks! I just designed my own on Powerpoint after looking at designs I liked on different websites. I'm a little worried because the original photos were jpeg but I didn't feel like bugging my photographer for something higher res. I zoomed in and they don't look pixelated until they're huge so hopefully all goes well! Etsy has tons of options too!

Mine don't match my wedding. I picked ones that has stringing lights across the top because FH is an electrician and they were adorable.

Thanks everyone! Nice to have some reassurance, now I am SUPERRRR excited for them to come in!!!

I've finally starting compiling addresses, luckily my sister still had her wedding list with some updates for me to use, and I went through FMIL's address book to get a bunch yesterday! Not as painful as I was expecting!
