Save the dates- when do u send them?

Help- I'm getting married OCt.7, 2005 When do I have to send my STD's? My FH says its too late but I disagree. Who is right??

12 - 6 months before the wedding. So you are fine.

I'm getting married only a week after you...Oct 15, 2005....and we are not sending them out until January, right after the New Year.

I'm sending them out next week-gathering the last address right now. We're getting married in may-so i think you're fine. Only those getting married on a holiday weekend are advised to send them out a year or more in advance. BUT start getting your addresses in order- always nice to do that in advance and a little at a time so its not a horrible glob process like i'm in the middle of!

I am getting married in May and as soon as I finish gathering addresses, we are sending them out. Waiting for lists from people

Respectfully, I disagree with your FI.
They are traditionally sent from 6-8 months before the event and they are specifically, for us, being held until after the new year so as not to compete with holiday cards and such.
Plus, they are not obligatory by any mean...
thye are great if you are getting married on a holiday weekend or a popular time but not at all required by etiquette -- I think we talked about this in a post with Pickles recently.
