To all you 08' brides out there, when do you think is a good time to send out our save the dates?
I personally will probably send them out as soon as I have picked a date and hall and a few of those....or i will give them at my engagement party (bc i will do that right away also) i dont like to wait :) too impatient...so doing the lil things along the way will keep my mind off of waiting til 08
i had the same question...since my wedding is on memorial day weekend i was wondering if i should send them out earlier than normal because so many people plan vacations that weekend ...but i also do not have a definite list of people yet so i'm looking for some input also ...
I agree with the previous bride, if you are having an engagement party, you can hand them out there. I made Save the date magnets and they are going to be the favor for the Engagement party. If you are not having one however, send them out when you have chosen your date and hall. I don't think it matters how early you send it out. And like you said, since it is Memorial Day weekend, you should give them extra time before they go and plan a vacation.

megan your save the dates did come out ADORABLE!!! Was it worth it to make them?? I love arts and crafts, just hate buying ink for my printer
I sent mine out along with the invites for the e-party. I have a lot of out of town family and if I gave the STDs out at the e-party, I was worried a lot of people woild not get them then I would have to try to figure out who I need to send them to. This way worked out for us.
One thing to keep in mind is that if you're blocking rooms at a hotel they often won't provide the reservation code and cards until a year before. Not all of the hotels do this, but a lot. I'm blocking rooms at two hotels for my September 2007 wedding, and one of them won't send me the cards with codes until October, so I'm waiting to send mine out until then. Otherwise, they would have gone out already.
