$$$$ Saving Money $$$$

What are you ladies doing to cut wedding costs?
As you know I switched my wedding date to a Sunday afternoon. We're getting married there so we're skipping limos and probably making our own candle centerpieces.

I researched vendors and tried to find the best deals without skimping on service.... I am also DIY-ing a lot....programs and things like that. I shopped online and got gorgeous invites for a great price and have done lots of research to find good deals before I buy.

We are having a friday night wedding and we are having one limo take two trips (one for the guys and one for the girls) instead of paying for 2 limos. Also I bought the containers for my centerpieces at Target on sale and I was able to save $ on the centerpieces this way. I also did a lot of research on prices. Even if I found someone I loved, I looked at at least 2 other places to compare prices.

We will probably provide the florist will hurricanes to use in lieu of traditional floral CPs or stands. Other than that, just doing our hw on vendors, trying to get the most for our money. We're not necessarily trying to save money (except for flowers cuz that's like a moral opposition for me), so much as trying to get the best value for what we do spend.

We are having a sunday afternoon wedding, using one limo that will take two trips, borrowing my friends veil, not having an MC with our DJ

Research all vendors! There are plenty out there that are very reasonable but you have to search hard to find them. Also talk them down to your price. The worst they can say is no...then you walk away and find a new one. We prob wont use a limo, and try to DIY with as many things that you can handle. HTH!

def research. If you're not happy with a price don't be afraid to say so, most likely they will lower it. We are getting married on a Saturday afternoon which helps in the price. We're only getting one limo for everyone and only one way. We are having an airport trans van pick us up to go back to the hotel. I couldn't see paying all that money just to leave in a limo.

We are going to do our own programs, didnt go with crazy amounts of flowers, and just did good research on which vendors were reasonable. One thing we didnt cheap out on were our flowers, and I hope that was a good decision ....

Using a local florist instead of the hyped up wedding florists on here

Using floating orchid CPs instead of big high ones

DIY STDs, maybe invites??

Researching a lot and try to get EVERYONE to bring down the price- it's worked so far!

Not getting 'extras' with DJ, like extra lighting and tvs that nobody will even notice or remember

We are having a Sunday evening wedding which save us a lot of $$. We also set a budget for each vendor and tried to stick to it. So far we only went a little over on the photographer.

We're having a Sunday evening wedding in February so we're saving a ton there. We're also getting married at the RH and staying at the inn they have so we saved on limos. I did our invites so we saved there also and we're also doing our own centerpieces. We did our own monogram cake topper. Also we researched our vendors and really let them know that we can't spend no more than this and this is what we want. If they can meet our criteria then we go and see their work, if not we don't waste our time or theirs.

I did TONS of research, as I do with everything. Got 125 invites which includes envelope liner, address & return address for $197. Doing my own menus & programs, didn't splurge on my dress, shoes, or anything that you couldn't tell the price of. I spent money where I needed to, but saved where no one would notice ! For example out honeymoon will cost a pretty penny, but will be totally worth it !

TO save money we chose to get married on a Thursday, saved about 50% on RH costs, my planner has been able to get vendors to bring down costs for things here and there, other than that we're not saving too too much money. It seems like we are spending about average.

diy centerpieces (ikea hurricanes etc...)
sunday evening wedding in an off winter month (great pp price)
no programs (more because I am lazy then $)
one limo for before ceremony instead of two (it will pick up and drop off guys then pick us up to bring to church)
small wedding 75-90 ppl
small wedding party just best man and moh and two ring boys

1. Friday night wedding
2. No limos since we live in Roslyn and the Royalton is in Roslyn
3. Spending the night in the Royalton bridal suite (included) instead of paying for a suite at a hotel
4. DJ instead of band
5. Simple layered invites
6. Researching EVERYTHING to get the best deals without sacrificing service/quality.
7. Using my wholesale contacts from work as much as possible (favors and more).

getting married on a sunday, totally saved in the flower area, dyi programs and menus, paid very reasonable price for my dress, most likely doing the 1 limo thing, I am trying to be reasonable yet tasteful however i definately didnt skim on phot/video!
