Saving $$ on flowers....tips??

Saving $$ on flowers....tips??

Can anyone give me some advice on saving money on flowers? For example, did anyone buy the vases themselves or something like that to cut corners and have their overall quote reduced. I do want some church flowers, but I want simple centerpieces. I want the bouquets to be professional done. Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions....I feel so overwhelmed by the prices....

thanks!

try using candles for centerpieces and go easy on the flowers. that will save you tons of money!

Try to re-use your flowers. The flowers we had outside for the cocktail hour were brought inside to be placed on tables, the bar, etc.

I cut out so much on flower costs Im using full bottles of wine with rose petals as my centerpieces/favors.

you can cut down on centerpieces by having more people at each table

use flowers that are in season

use fewer flowers that have a bigger punch

use something other than flowers for your centerpieces... candles are big for this

use the bouquets to decorate the head table

use something other than flowers for the men... martha stewart had great ideas for this one

have your wedding close to a time when the locations will already be highly decorated... near mothers day, near christmas

select a smaller bouquet

I went to a local florist and not a ' wedding' florist. I am saving a bundle.

also... look into your local supermarket's floral section. they have lovely things much cheaper than a 'florist'

what's ur budget?? my florist was very reasonably priced. you should def check her out. i did however buy my own vases for my centerpieces. also for my centerpieces, i told her how much i wanted to spend on each and she showed me what she could give me.

FM me for more info.

have low cp's instead of high ones. or do half high and half low

Instead of spending lots of money for half an hour ceremony decoration, 80% of your budget to CP & Bo-K

you can buy flowers in bulk @ costco. we plan to do his for ch. choose flowers that are in-season & less pricey.

I'm doing low cp on almost all the tables and only the 4 close family and bridal party tables get the high centerpieces. It saved me a bundle!!!

roses are carnations are 2 of the cheaper flowers....use low CPs, shop around for quotes, get vases from acmoore, michaels or whereer you find them on sale...you will spend less from the florist that way, florists will charge you $10 or more for the vases alone!
...i got an amazing quote from Flower Barn in Seaford

Look into Designs by Rose also, they are very affordable and work within your budget. Highly recommend them!

Roses are one of the least expensive flower.
Use candles in your CP.
Ikea has great quality pillar candles in varying heights at reasonable prices

if u go to a wedding florist... they charge u more just because it's a wedding... if you go to a regualr florist they could save you a lot... if not.. try going into the city and go to the wholesale flower district.. and you could set up ur own centerpieces... ikea sells really nice vases

If you want to add crystals or anything like that to bouquets, by them yourself. If you are doing high centerpieces, use something the vendor already owns so they don't have to rent something and charge you more for it.
