Saving $$ on flowers....tips??

we're having our church flowers done in a basket and after the ceremony we are bringing the basket with us to set up at the card table or at the bar this way we're only paying for 1 piece and using it twice.

designate a parent or someone to be the flower mover.

Having LESS flowers is the easiest way to cut your budget.... do the flowers for the church yourself but have your florist do the CPs. Mix high and low CPs if you have a bunch of tables.

Stay with 'in-season' flowers... trying to get cherry blossom branches in december will cost more

Think of alternate ways to decorate the church or other tables. Rather than floral dec's for our cocktail hour room, we bought a ton of fake pumpkins and carved them which cost less than a single CP.

Be upfront with your florist.... tell them EXACTLY what you want up front and your budget and they should be able to help you figure out the best combo

this is what i did... i only spent about $600 on flowers. don't do centerpieces... OR ask if your hall provides anytihng basic with your price. mine did and i left it at that... to me, i didn't really care about the flowers too much.

also, have a small BP. the more bm's the higher your floral budget. bok's can run upwards of $100.00

also, i was able to bring my flowers from the church tot he hall...see if you can reuse flowers or move them around from your ceremony site to the reception,
