okay so number one...

the larkfield manor. room was too small (granted we are only guaranteeing 75... but these 75 people will be dancing ALL night long, and the dance floor cant hold more than 20 people comfortably)... AND he was a real big jerk when i had an idea he shot it down with he quickness.. 'NO. I DO NOT LIKE THAT IDEA. WE WILL NOT DO THAT!'... well then good sir... we will not be giving you our money... PEACE OUT.


okay... so secondly...and some of you will be shocked with this...

The Watermill...

again, we can only guarantee 75... so nobody wanted to talk to us... they talked ABOUT us after we filled out the papers and stuff....they talked loud enough about us so we could hear... and then 20 minutes without being greeted by a BM was the straw that broke the bride's back. we peaced outta there with the hella attitude.

SO... back on our search...to giorgios, the meadow club, majestic gardens, and east wind. :)

Oh god!!! Soo sorry to hear that!!!! You would think they would do/say anything to get your biz!!!! What diks! I hope the rest of your search is a hell of alot better

You can check the Swan Club they have room for small wedding I went to see it and is beautiful ( Im only having 55 guest) they treat me great. Also tatched cottage can take as little as 50 guests and they are very friends

Sorry you had a bad experience at Larkfield. Many of us 08ers are having our wedding there, and have found them nothing but accomodating. My FH's uncle is a chef and he was personally invited into the kitchen. The food is also amazing! Best of luck in your RH search.

Sorry to hear about your bad experience..i don't know a lot about those places at all.
You can try George Washington Manor..i know they hold small weddings b/c my Aunt had a very small wedding. Their ballroom is so pretty..all windows.

I wanted to do the 'fake cake' thing because i want a really elaborate cake but i also want it to taste good, so fondant is out.

he said that their baker uses fondant but 'takes it off the cake' before serving it and theres buttercream under the fondant.

so i said would it be possible to not use the cake and to have a sheet cake to serve and a fake cake for show... so he yelled at me and said 'NO, I DO NOT LIKE THAT IDEA. I WILL NOT DO IT! You will like the raw fondant cake!'

um.. no i wont. so yeah, he can go screw himself. no larkfield, no watermill.. oh well. lol

i just want it to look cool ya know? they dont have to eat it...thats what a sheet cake is for... to be honest... i kinda wanna make it myself... im really creative with all that stuff, being an elementary school teacher in training ya know?

i dunno. it was just an idea i had, and he completely shot it down, like there was no compromising at all, and that completely turned me off.
