the larkfield manor. room was too small (granted we are only guaranteeing 75... but these 75 people will be dancing ALL night long, and the dance floor cant hold more than 20 people comfortably)... AND he was a real big jerk when i had an idea he shot it down with he quickness.. 'NO. I DO NOT LIKE THAT IDEA. WE WILL NOT DO THAT!'... well then good sir... we will not be giving you our money... PEACE OUT.
okay... so secondly...and some of you will be shocked with this...

again, we can only guarantee 75... so nobody wanted to talk to us... they talked ABOUT us after we filled out the papers and stuff....they talked loud enough about us so we could hear... and then 20 minutes without being greeted by a BM was the straw that broke the bride's back. we peaced outta there with the hella attitude.
SO... back on our search...to giorgios, the meadow club, majestic gardens, and east wind. :)

It just means the place wasnt for you.... but then what happens if all places shoot you down on that idea... you'd have to basically start over from scratch again! That would totally suck!!!!!

then i get married in my backyard. lol. i doubt that all the places are gonna be willing to lose the money just because of the stupid cake. and besides, if they can do the cake i want, and have it taste good, i'd consider it... the problem with him is that he yelled at me telling me that I WILL LIKE THE FONDANT... dude...no i wont .fondant blows.
blah it was really his attitude more than the not liking idea of it.

yeah, that's really crazy...usually they just yes you to death at this point.
omg Marissa ... I cant believe that these people treated you guys like that I want to go there and throw a fit ... that sh!t bothers me so much ... however I guess you can say at least you tried and you can X them off your list! I hope your search is more pleasant with your next RH's!

really? the WM wasnt hospitable? I heard good things about them. But I noticed something about all these RHs-immediately they want to make sure that you can guarantee the people youre inviting. what difference does it make if its 60 and not 75?! theyre still getting the money for 75 people ya know?
Im like umm its 2 yrs away how am i supposed to know how many people are coming!

Some bakeries still do Buttercream and Whipped cream , no fondant....I didnt like my cousins cake though, yuck!!! You can always do the cupcake tiers!!! Put a daisy on each!!!

this guy said that his baker uses fondant but takes it off before the cake is served... either way he really pissed me off. lol. we havent decided exactly what we want to do yet, it was really just his attitude that pissed me off the most.

So sorry to hear about your bad experience. We are having only about a 100 people at Jericho Terrace Oak Room and our BM Rob was very accomodating. Try him and see what he could do for your party of 75. Also, when we were looking for a RH we saw Woodbury Manor and the minimum there was 85 people which is very close to what you have. Talk to Natasha--she was very nice and the RH was pretty nice too. Hope things go better from this point on. Good luck.

JT was on our list until we decided to have it in suffolk...im sure out of the 5 or 6 we still want to look at that someone will be accomodating... i cant imagine al of them willing to lose the money that easily. this guy just basically said to us 'i dont want your money, stupid americans.'

Sorry to hear the bad experience you had at the venues. I don't blame you for leaving. You would think they would have exhibited better profesionalism. Going forward, you find the right RH for you and FH.
