Saw my RE today...

Saw my RE today...

And I am officially depressed.

He told me my options were...

1-Donor eggs (ACK, not ready for that!!)

2-Cornell's co-culture program, *IF* they accept me. My saving grace if that my FSH is normal.
For those who don't know, this is a procedure where they use cells from your lining to grow the embryos in. It's for people with poor quality embryos. I already called them last week

3-I could try another cycle with him, but he doesn't have a lot of confidence in it working. Ummmmmm, not good when your Dr tells you that...

I'm glad he was so honest. He said that last cycle I stimmed (IVF slang for taking ovarian stimulating meds) 13 days (most people don't go over 10 days) and did 118 vials of meds. Thats an average of over 9 vials a day (most people do 2 or 3). I only got 7 eggs (not a lot), 4 fertilized (2 the second day, late bloomers), and they were all poor quality. I asked him if my eggs were poor quality b/c I need so much meds, or do I need so much meds b/c my eggs are poor quality. He said thats kind of like asking which came first, the chicken or the egg....

Lisa, you are on my prayer list, I will not take you off until you tell me to or until you get your bundle in your arms. I hope it happens that I take you off real soon. I wish you all the best sweetie. I am not knowledgeable in this area but I will offer kind words, support, prayers and lots of hugs

Lisa - my heart goes out to you - it is normal to feel down - but please do not give up!

I am praying that things work out for you and your DH. Hopefully you will be able to be part of the Cornell program- how do they go about deciding who can participate.

Your Dr. sounds very good. I appreciate Drs. who are straight me. I find that it makes my decision making easier.

Good Luck and hang in there!
