It was OK, not as good as I expected to be honest. I thought it was really slow in the beginning, but picked up when Samuel L Jackson fought the Senator. and I thought it was cool the way everything came together in the end, so that now we know why Yoda was in hiding in the swamp, why the emperor looked like he did, etc.

BUT, I have real issues with Annakin SLAYING the baby Jedis!!!! When the door closed and he got out his light saber, I turned to DH and just said 'Oh, no! He didn't!!'

And then we had to see their little bodies all lying on the floor I could see if maybe he blew up the Jedi council room or something, but he killed them all with his light saber!!!!

I completely agree with your review, but I watched part of #2 yesterday since it was on TV and Anaken killed women and children there where he went to rescue his mom (she was already dead at that point). He slaughtered the entire village (men, women, children, and pets) so he had a violent past. I just felt so badly for those little kids though.

How could he kill the cute little younglings?
But this movie was definately the best out of the 3. The part where you hear Darth Vader breathe for the first time....ooooh, that was bada$$!

I loved that part...and how they made all the smoke swirl around the mask as they sealed it...that was great.

I didn't like him killing all the kids either, but he does become Darth Vader & did have to become evil at some point
I did not, however, like the scene when she named the twins...it seemed a bit rushed.

And how about the childbirth? I thought it was a c-section? So why was she doing those little grunts if she wasn't pushing? It was like, 'ooh, uh' baby boy comes out.... 'Luke!' then, 'ooh, uh' baby girl comes out.... 'Leia!'

I usually like Natalie Portman, but her acting was HORRIFIC in all 3 movies (along with Hayden Christianson).

Yeah, that was definitely a guy's point of view on childbirth...plus she had some really slick maternity wear, there. Especially when she went to find Anakin...

I really think she should've said 'Help me Obi Wan Kenobi, you're my only hope' while she was dying

Even though parts were bad/sad like with the 'younglings', it had to be that way to make you hate the new bad guy, you know?
All the parts fit into the storyline perfectly and I cried when she died after the babies were born.

I thought the movie was great overall. It had it's problems -- the childbirth scene in particular to me was the worst. I agree -- what was with the grunting and screaming if they had to 'operate' to 'save the babies'??? It was like 'waaaah' ,pop, 'Luke'..... 'waaaah!' , pop, 'Leia'... then 'there is good in him' and die. WTH??

Anyway, as far as anakin killing the kids... it had to be done. I didn't have a problem with it...they didn't actually SHOW him doing it.

To be honest, I could not stay awake through episode I or II but this one was EXCELLENT.

The best part was after the whole mask/breathing thing when he stood up and you heard James Earl Jone's voice for the first time -- AWESOME!! I totally wasn't expecting that!!

Yeah, but I thought it was a little weird, because to me it didn't look like Darth Vader - he was much smaller than the original DV, and at the end when he and the emperor were looking out the window at the Death Star, he actually folded his arms across his chest. I was just like Darth Vader would never actually do that!!

I liked it overall though, and I think it must've been really tough to come up with a prequel to a series of movies that people are so fanatical about...I mean, seriously, I was counting Yoda's fingers because they didn't look right to me at first

I thought the same thing!!!! Darth Vader wouldn't fold his arms across his chest like that

I thought it was weak. It was slow in some parts and the transition to Darth Vadar wasn't as exciting as I thought it should be. Overall I was disappointed - YET AGAIN Mr. Lucas!!

I feel like the scene with the kids wans't that bad because Anikan eventually becomes very evil, so this was in character. I am glad they the actual killing to the viewer's imagination

My main problem? When they said she died not because of a medical problem, but lack of a will to live. That makes Anikan so much more indirect in her death. They should have made him completely, 100% the reason why she dies. Then, you would have the irony that he goes through all of this to save her life, and then ends up killing her.

I was also very upset by Anakin killing the younglings, but I understood why it was done. I'm just glad they didn't show the actual murders.

As far as Queen Amidala's death, I actually thought the 'lack of will to live' was 100% attributable to Anakin. He is the one who took away her will to live, by turning to the dark side.

I enjoyed the movie, but was dissappointed with the 'Hold me like you did by the lake' scene between Anakin and Padme.... also the birth sequence was odd. I expected something more extreme then the way Anakin just gave himself to Sidious It just seemed to easy!

Killing the Younglings and the Jedi's made me very sad. And when Obi Wan cut his legs and arm off - so creepy watching him burn up. But watching him morph into Vader was mind blowing!!! And creepy when you heard him breath for the first time.

As for being able to write the script - these books were written in order YEARS ago! They just decided to make the movie out of 4-6 first, then 1-3. I'm looking forward to seeing all 6 at some point in a row so it all flows together, but the special effects will be sooooo lame in 4-6.... even tho they are great movies!

i agree that darth vader was smaller and less imposing -- the acting was not so hot and i didn't feel that there was the good/evil struggle at all...

the suspense wasn't there for me - they spent so much time on special effects and not enough on dart vader. i think they should have developed that more

i am so over natalie portman
i would say walk don't run to this ...disappointing

Maybe not in the later movies.......but he was just Anakin the Jedi like 3 hours earlier - someone who did cross his arms like Obi does. I thought it was interesting.
