SAY NO

Original post by Ang9483

I just feel the need to express how bad tanning beds are. I lost my uncle at 39 yesterday to melanoma he used to go tanning and it mutated the melanoma cells he had on his face. He just got married in June to a wonderful woman who found out shortly after her engagement he had melanoma she stayed by his side through it all and made his wish to be married come true. I know around times of weddings people don't want to be pale but please find an alternative. I know these forums are for happy posts. I Just feel the need to express how bad tanning beds are. I once read that one time can up your chances by 60%. Lets me beautiful pale brides and live looooong healthy lives with our husbands.

I'm so sorry for your loss, and my heart goes out to you and your family. It's good that you are sending out this message. I used to go tanning regularly, and also had to get cancer cut out, and now I have scars. Now it's Elizabeth Arden sunless tanning for special occasions.

Re: SAY NO

Sorry for your loss . I agree--just say no!

Everyone is at risk for skin cancer, and what we do definitely can help to prevent it.

I wear SPF 30 on my face daily, and on face and body in warmer weather. I wear SPF 70 on vacations! I don't even burn easily, but just in case!
