scanning help

ok, so we bought a scanner. but the pictures we scan don't come out nice like the ones everyone else has up? how do you get them to be big and clear? help!

what size does the picture come out to be?

You may want to check your scanner preferences. What resolution is it scanning the pics in?
I usually scan mine in at a higher res (300+) and then bring the pics down (image size and res) in Adobe Photoshop.
