I just know I really want to have a baby. I can't wait to see who/what he/she looks like. I can't wait to see my DH with the baby. Every time I see a baby on the street I get all mushy. I don't know I just really have a rapport with children and I feel like I'm meant to have a few of my own.

Don't get me wrong, I know it's a HUGE step. and I know being a parent is forever...and that's part of the reason why we're waiting, because we'd like to have some time for ourselves before having children, we're enjoying traveling without the hassle of kids. and to be honest, the process itself does scare me a bit. But I dont' worry about not being a good parent, or not being able to provide. I somehow just know we'll be just fine, and I have an amazing support system in my family.

I dunno...maybe it's because I know it's still a few years away...so I'm not freaked out yet???

Can I tell you something, Red? I'm 31 wks PG and I'm STILL scared... petrified... cocoa really nailed it....

People like Farah have always amazed me too...people that 'just know' when they are ready and really jump into the whole thing....

I'm a big chicken when it comes to babies!!! And to be honest, I don't think I would have felt any different if I was more 'ready' or if this pg had been planned.

i agree...But i don't think i will be as nervous or scared once i am PG...Then the decision part of it is over. Yes that starts a whole new area of worrying but i think i will be able to handle that better. (i DEFINATELY could be wrong aobut that though).

A part of me almost hopes i get PG by accident...I know what we would do and the decision to do it, the worry about it would be gone....I know that is very cowardly but it is how i feel...

I can totally understand this too. It's almost like you want the decision of when to start your family to be made for you. If I hadn't gotten PG by accident I would've been just as freaked out as you when we did finally get around to discussing TTC.

Wow - I feel the same exact way! Craig is ready now for a baby, but as much as I do want children and I can't wait to be a mommy - the very thought if it just terrifies me sometimes! It's a very scary concept - anyone who can go throught such a life altering event and NOT have some kind of fear must have nerves of steel or something! I think there is a lot of stress and also fear when you are consciously TTC, and the accident really would alleviate some of that, at least until the baby is born, then I think I would worry about a trillion new things! That said, I thought I was PG last week and kept willing the HPT to come up positive, just hoping that it was real! Now that I know I'm not, I'm a little down, and it makes me think that maybe I am 'ready' so to speak, and this was my way of realizing that? I mean, I was already planning out my new maternity wardrobe and thinking of day care schedules!!

Being scared is normal - at least everyone I know with kids has told me the same thing. Even though I'm excited and scared about TTC, I feel in my heart that we are as ready as we'll ever be. As long as I have the strength of my family and friends as a support system (and LIW of course!), then I think I can handle it, and Craig and I will start trying very soon now

I wasn't scared to TTC at all - I knew I wanted it so badly...

But now that I am preggo - everything scares me!!

I keep reminding myself though - that it will all be ok - I am not in this alone, and if I trust my gut - I know I will be a good parent.

I try not to let fear ruin the experience for me- becuase it really has been beautiful from beginning to now.
