I dont know what to do. I have gone to a few RH places and feel like I haven't found 'the one' and I am starting to get scared that i won't find it. My FH really likes Crest Hollow but I just feel that it is okay..What do I do

Keep looking. I was in the same boat. I found a place I kinda liked and I was going to settle. But Fh wanted to try one more place. It was a little more than the place I was going to settle for but I fell in love with it. It was everything I wanted it to be. You'll know when you find the place.

You have plenty of time don't stress out. Where have you looked at and what are you looking for in a venue? how many guests? and your budget pp? Maybe we can help with suggestions.

Keep looking...you will know when you find the one. I knew it the minute i walked into my venue. You need to have that feeling.

Its looking like we are having close to 200 people and my pp is about 90-95. I have looked at the Crest, Woodlands at Woodbury, Millerage Inn, Sands of Lido, Woodbury Country Club, Coral House

Keep looking. FH and I felt the same way and started to get frustrated because we didn't think we would ever find anything. We almost didn't check out the Sand Castle and when we did, we both knew it was what we wanted. Good luck!

I know it feels like you will never find the one but take your time and don't settle!!! I was about to settle for an rh and wasn't even going to go see watermill but luckily fh insisted and we fell in love with watermill!!

Just keep looking! I wasn't completely head over heels until I saw my 8th venue. Also sometimes it might hit you later on. Don't get discouraged!

I had that same issue. People on here talk about falling in love with their venue. Me? I searched and searched, wanted a place on the water with a true nautical feel, and with in my budget (which is low by any means). And guess what? that was impossible. I kept feeling disappointed and thought, what the hell is wrong with me? everyone found 'the one' and I cant even find one I really like. Needless to say, I changed my vision and search. We found Westbruy Manor. While it didn't fit my original vision, we loved the place, were happy with the staff, got a price we were happy with. I never got the feeling walking into a place and said 'OMG this is it!' and you may not either. Just make a list of things you know you want and things you definitely dont want. Then a list of things you are flexible on. It really helped to focus on what was important to us and in the end we are very happy with our choice of venue and haven't had one regret in our decision yet.

hope this helps!

I was in a similar situation. I had a very specific vision of what my wedding venue would look like when I began to search. We kept visiting places that were 'just ok', and felt like we were going to have to settle. We even saw one place that we got excited about the day we saw it, and the next morning I woke up in a cold sweat saying 'that one isn't it'. We had just been so discouraged, that when we finally saw a venue that wasn't half bad, we got excited, even though it wasn't anything that we had wanted.

I was already under constraints budgetwise and because we're Jewish, and want a Rabbi to officiate, we had to have either a Sunday afternoon or Thursday night wedding. So since I had to compromise there, I didn't want to compromise on the vision I had created based around that.

I saw 35 venues before we chose one. I actually saw 5 of them twice because I was so unsure. I had found Giorgio's website early in our search, but because it was so far away (we live in Queens), I had tried to put off going to see it, even though I thought it would be perfect. But with all the other places that I was so underwhelmed with, I decided to take the trip, knowing all along that as soon as we walked in, I'd say this is it.

Sometimes it just takes a little patience and stamina to find what you want. Don't settle because you feel like you're running out of time. I know exactly how that feels. Just remember you have plenty of time, and there are hundreds of venues on Long Island, and in Queens, Brooklyn, and Westchester. One of them will be your venue.

If you'd like my list, I can FM it to you.

Just remember, as long as you only see 34 venues, you're still less crazy than me.

What places have you visited? And what is the feel you are looking for?
