scary question- raindate??

with this stupid hurricane that might or might not effect the weather next weekend (ps- i dont trust weatherpeople)... i imagine all us 'sept/oct' girls knew when booking that this is hurricane season.
did any of you ask your hall (at time of booking) what happens if there's a storm?
I remember mentioning this, but it being more about snow (they brought up snow, not me) and saying that it depends on how bad everything gets... but like... WHAT the hell happens if roads are closed, power is out, etc.
I know most of us don't even want to think it.. but I'd rather have an emergency plan then wing it.

when we through FFIL his surprise 60th (4½ years ago) we had a snow storm on the day of his party, so we called all the guests and told them we'd be doing it the following week (we had it at captain bills and they were so nice about it)... BUT because of the date change, some guests had other parties to attend, while the ones that couldn't make the original date could now come to the new one... so it averaged out okay... but that might not always be the case.

I hate to be the one to bring this up, but FH and I always joked that we'd have a major hurricane on our wedding, because every time long island was hit, FH was in Italy and has never experienced a hurricane

so... what happens?

Yeah... definitely don't even want to THINK about this one or put the vibes into the universe...

It's bad enough there's a hurricane going through Antigua right now, and that's where my honeymoon is... It's a risk we fall brides take, but I still think we should all pray for the best!!!

i think the wedding is still on, unless the power's out or roads are closed.

if you're worried, you can always buy wedding insurance (i believe it's only a couple hundred dollars) ... that way, if you need to cancel / postpone your wedding, you won't lose money from any vendors you may have booked.
