Scents for your home - what do you use?

What are some of the brands/scents you use? I got the Febreze air effects but I'm not that impressed with it.

I want something that when you walk into my home you'll really smell it - any suggestions?

p.s. - interested in your candles too, but I'm happy so far with my Yankee candles

TIA

I like the Yankee Candle cotton scent--it fills the whole living room even when it isn't lit!

Re: Scents for your home - what do you use?

You shold really try the oil burners or the tart-warmers (not sure what they're called) My DH is a smoker, and once I light this - the entire house smells wonderful in a matter of minutes! Like I said, I'm not calling them the right thing, but this is what they look like. These are from Yankee Candle, but you can get the burners and wax tarts at any store that sells candles. The scents last a really long time too - oil or wax tarts. And they're really cheap! I love ours so much, and I have a whole drawer filled with the wax tarts from Yankee!

Re: Scents for your home - what do you use?

I'm wondering the same thing.

It is so easy to make an apartment smell great since you don't have that many rooms.

Try to make a Colonial smell great all the time when you walk in.

I also went out and bought all sorts of plug ins.

I recently purchased 'Oust' I really like it.

You turn it on and it stays on for 5 minutes then turns off for 15 minutes I believe and then goes on again. It's battery operated.

Re: Scents for your home - what do you use?

and your saying it lasts longer than a candle?

The plug-ins are worthless, they smell for the first 5 minutes you plug it in, then you can throw it out.

no i swear i put one in a month ago (Spiced Cider) and everyone comments when they come in out apartment. You can tell when you need another one bc its clear and you can see how much liquid is left inside. I need to change mine soon so i guess they last about a month.

Re: Scents for your home - what do you use?

I am a huge fan of the tart warmers .. it was given to me as a gift .. my only knock on them .. is that you go through the unscented tealights rapidly.

Linens N Things has gift sets .. it comes with the burner, 3 different scented tarts & tealights. .. I saw them in a fall & christmas theme.

Actually Glade Plug Ins has been working for me. I only have to change them every 6 weeks and everyone comments on the smell when they come in!

Re: Scents for your home - what do you use?

I use Renzuit Air wicks that plug in the wall. They really work well and they have a bunch of good scents. I also burn candles, candles and more candles...any scent IM OBSESSED! I'm a scent freak it's pretty bad.. I just bought a bag of potpourri from KOHLS and it smells so good. I've never smelt it as strong before.. Also try boiling potpourri for about 10 minutes .. it smells the whole place up.. and it lasts!!!!!!!
