Do you think a 2pm ceremony with a 6pm reception time gives us enough time inbtw to take pictures? I'm worried that I'm going to get stuck at the church being greeted by guests after the ceremony...how long does that usually take (I have a very large family)?

i have a 4 pm ceremony and a 7 pm cocktail hour....it is a good 30 minutes from church to reception
my photographer said that it was totally fine for pics...

Thats enough time, My cermony starts at 4pm and CH starts and 7pm and everyone tells me its more then enough time

I have the same amount of time- 3PM ceremony, 7PM CH. I am confident that we will make it to the CH.

We have the same amount of time as well, 2pm church, 6pm ceremony.
I went to a wedding a couple of weeks ago with a 2:30 church and a 7pm ceremony and I went back and lied down for a little, got ready, and met some friends for a drink (we were all staying at the hotel). The time passes really quickly.
The bride, the groom and the bridal party were there for the first hour of the cocktail hour (they did an hour and a half). They disappeared for the last half hour to finish up pics (my FH was in the wedding party, he went to the bar to get me a drink and never came back) so there was ample time to get everything done.

My ceremony is at 3 and the reception starts at 7, so I feel that this is enough time.

You should be fine. My Ceremony is at 2:30 and the CH starts at 6:30. I'm not worried.

I have the same time frame -- ceremony is at 3pm and the reception starts at 7pm. My reception is about 20 minutes from my ceremony. It should definitely be enough time.
